Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship

Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship program for post-secondary students provides funding by the Government of Saskatchewan, matched with funds raised by post-secondary institutions through private sector and community-based partners.

The scholarship has two components: one that focuses on innovation and excellence and one that allows institutions to target scholarships in accordance with the institutions strategic direction. Scholarships for innovation and excellence will be targeted at students in new and emerging fields of study, or fields where innovative work is being done, including but not limited to: mining; energy; agriculture/biotechnology; environment; science; nuclear medicine; forestry; manufacturing and engineering.

Queen Elizabeth II Centennial Aboriginal Scholarship

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh announced this scholarship during their Centennial visit to Saskatchewan in May 2005. The $20,000 scholarship is to be awarded to First Nations/Métis students who are pursuing graduate studies in any field at any accredited university in Saskatchewan. Students must have graduated from a university in Saskatchewan, preference will be given to students who have attended or received an undergraduate degree from the First Nations University of Canada. The scholarship is to be awarded annually on the basis of academic excellence to one student or split between equally deserving candidates.

Application forms - may be completed on-line and saved to your local drive. Please print your completed application and forward by regular mail to the appropriate address.

Reference Letter - please complete the applicant section, save and forward electronically or by regular mail to your reference. Your reference must forward the completed reference letter to the Adjudicating Committee.

Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh announced a $10,000 scholarship during their 1987 visit to Saskatchewan . During their May 2005 visit, the amount of this scholarship was increased to $20,000. The scholarship is to be awarded annually for graduate or post-graduate study of Saskatchewan politics and government at either of Saskatchewan's universities on the basis of academic excellence. The scholarship amount will be awarded to one student or split between equally deserving candidates.

D.R. Simmons Memorial Scholarships

There are two scholarships of $500 available annually to graduating Grade 12 Saskatchewan students of First Nations or Métis ancestry who are continuing studies at the post-secondary level.

Applications are available from Student Services or print application below. Deadline for application is October 15.

James Dickson Scholarship

This $500 scholarship is available annually to a graduating Grade 12 Saskatchewan student of black ancestry. If no award is made during one year, two awards may be made during the following year.
